Arua Hill Promoted After Unbeaten Season

Arua Hill Sports Club will play in the Uganda Premier League next season on sporting merit.

A brace from Rashid Kawawa, a strike each from Gaddafi Gadinho and Ceasar Okhuti sealed Arua Hill’s 4-0 win against Paidha Black Angels.

The result means that Arua Hill have been promoted to the top flight after finishing top of the Elgon Group.

They have won eight and drawn six of the 14 league games to end the campaign unbeaten.

After a 2-2 draw at Gaddafi on Wednesday, Arua Hill needed just a point in their last game to confirm a ticket to UPL.

Facing an already relegated side, Arua Hill quickly got out of the blocks when Gadinho finished cleanlyin the 6th minute.

The Visitors couldn’t create any chance in the opening exchanges as Arua Hill proved more organised.

At the half hour mark, Rashid Kawawa doubled the hosts lead off a poor communication from Paidha Goalkeeper and Defender.

Four minutes later, Arua Hill were three up thanks to a simple Okhuti finish.

Rashid Kawawa completed his brace with a fourth goal for Arua Hill later in the second half.

They will face Tooro United in the final of the Big League on Sunday 20th June.

Gaddafi and Blacks Power will play in the playoffs alongside the two teams from Rwenzori – Proline and Nyamityobora.

The two relegated teams are Paidha Black Angels and Mbale Heroes from Elgon while Kigezi Homeboyz and Tiles and Terazo are relegated from Rwenzori Group.
