Basketball is set to return to its home, Lugogo Indoor Arena, The-SportsNation has been told.
The National Basketball League was recently suspended by National Council of Sports on June 3 due to FUBA’s failure to observe SOPs.
The league is expected to return soon from suspension after positive engagement between FUBA and NCS last week.
“We are planning on securing another venue (like Lugogo) which is more secure from fans since now they are banned by government from watching any sport,” FUBA Vice President Administration Hudson Ssegamwenge told The-SportsNation.
On when will the league resume, he stated: “For now we are still hanging on and we shall officially communicate the start date.”
The-SportsNation sources have it that the league may return as early as this Saturday.
The top flight has been held at KIU (Kansanga) and UCU (Mukono) courts after Government had banned having sports from indoor or enclosed facilities.
Before the suspension, which came one week to end of the regular season, games were held behind closed doors but FUBA had no control on limiting Students at the host Universities.
FUBA is confident that the League can resume at KIU and UCU courts given that the Universities are closed after Government suspended classes.
