The Federation of Uganda Football Association has confirmed that the 2020/21 Big League playoffs will be played to conclusion.
The playoffs winner will become the third team to join the Uganda Premier League.
The new developments come after FUFA ended the season, awarding title to Express FC while Kyetume have joined MYDA and Kitara as the relegated sides.
Before the lockdown that halted sporting activities, the playoffs were slated to be played at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru between June 27th to 29th.
Four teams were still battling for the remaining slot in order to join the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
“The games will be played to conclusion and determine the third team to the Uganda Premier League but depending on clearance from National Council of Sports and guidelines from the Ministry of Health guidelines about the Covid-19,” reads a statement from FUFA.
In the play offs, Rwenzori group runners up Proline who finished with 29 points will face Blacks Power who finished third in Elgon with 22 points.
In the other playoff game, Gaddafi FC who came second in Elgon will tussle it out with Western Regional side Nyamityobora who were third in Rwenzori.
The two winners of each tie will face off in the final.
The winner of the final will join Arua Hill SC and Tooro United who already earned automatic Qualification to the Uganda Premier League.
