KCCA FC are exploring the possibility of snapping up Mbarara City FC versatile player Innocent Wafula.
The former Vipers SC player is reportedly poised to cut ties with the Ankole Lions at the end of the current season, and the Kasasiro Boys have steadfast shown early intentions of landing him.
Coach Morley Byekwaso, serving on interim basis, is expected to sign a two-year deal, and with the club starring down the barrel of a barren 2020- 2021season, reinforcements are bound to suffice if marked improvements are to be made next season.
Whlist It’s reported that the KCCA FC board are open to splash the cash in the bid to drag the club out of this season’s mediocrity.
Wafula, formerly at Kenyan giants Gor Mahia has experienced a chequered spell in Ugandan Football since signing for Vipers SC from Gor Mahia.
He had playing time hard to come by at Kitende before he disappred from the football domain only to sprout out at Mbarara City FC.
What is certain though is Wafula’s talent catapulted by versatility.
He can fare well as a right back, right winger and pass through the middle of the pack.
His pace, close ball control and swerving crosses makes him an ideal player to have in a squad, and it’s believed to have swayed KCCA FC to pick interest in the player.
Coach Morely Byekwaso appears to fancy a three-man backline, and has often played Moses Aliro as a makeshift right wing back, partially because Filbert Obenchan sustained a long term injury.
That’s why there is a tinge of feeling that the right wing back issue can be addressed by the arrival of Innocent Wafula.
