Silverbacks have intensified the preparations for the crucial Afrobasket qualifier against Morocco on Thursday.

The team held their first training session in Rabat today, Sunday, since arriving on Saturday after ending a four-day camp in Egypt.

New Silverbacks power forward cum centre Ghedi Abdihakim Mohamed stated: “This is a good group of guys, on and off the court. They are really talented and hard working . And its fun to be a round them.”

Ghedi, son to National team General Manager Hajji Muhamed Santur, is one of the players set to make their debuts for the Silverbacks.

Born in Uganda and a former student at Kampala Parents and Greenhill academy, Ghedi has been staying in Minnesota, United States since 2012.

Eleven of the 12 summoned players are all in camp besides Ishmail Wainright who will be joining the team on Tuesday.

Uganda will face Morocco on Thursday, July 8 at the Salle Bouazzaoui Arena.
