RSB Berkane Confirm Ibenge Appointment

Moroccan side Renaissance Sportive de Berkane have appointed Jean-Florent Ikwange Ibengé as their next coach, its official.

The club has confirmed the development on Monday, July 5, adding that the gaffer has put pen to paper on a two-year contract.

“The signing of the former coach of DRC and Vita Club came after agreeing on all the details of the contract and specifying the goals that he will work on during the next two seasons,” RSB Berkane has confirmed.

Ibenge replaces Juan Pedro Benali who was sacked with his coaching staff, besides the goalkeeping coach, on June 23.

The sacking, after defeat to Wydad Casablanca, ended a short spell for Benali at the club. He was appointed on March 18 to replace Tarik Sektioui.

Berkane who won the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup, suffered a shock exit at the group stages this season.

They are currently fifth in the league with 33 points, 24 points behind leaders Wydad with five games to go.

Ibenge will start his work against IR Tanger on Thursday, July 8 in an away league fixture.
