The Under-23 teams of hosts Saudi Arabia and Uganda will face off once again for their second friendly on Monday.

The two sides shared spoils on Friday in a goalless draw at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.

Uganda is using the two buildup games to prepare for the Cecafa U23 tournament in Ethiopia.

Saudi Arabia on other hand, are gearing up for Olympics where they are in Group D alongside Brazil, Germany and Ivory Coast.

“The boys have responded well in the last training session. Each player has worked to our expectations, and we thank God that we did not pick any injury,” said coach Morley Byekwaso.

The Kobs, the name given to Uganda’s Under-23 side, wasted plenty of opportunities in the first friendly including two keeper-to-beat chances.

The coach adds: “We want to come out well in the Monday game and play well. We want to leave with a good result before the cecafa tournament in two weeks time.”

Midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga: “We have made a few adjustments and now want to score, we are now used to the weather but we are used.”

Coach Byekwaso is expected to ring changes to the team that played the first friendly and give some playing time to other members of the squad.

Note – Uganda are the champions of cecafa thanks to a 3-0 win over Eritrea in the final last year with Bright Anukani, Mustafa Kiiza and Joel Madondo on target.
