Mustafa Kizza Remorseful After LGBQT Post

Uganda Cranes left back Mustafa Kizza has issued an apology after inappropriate post about gay people.

The Montreal Impact star posted a photo of a gay wedding, where he revealed his surprise and disagreement in the caption.

The move has not settled well with the public and the former KCCA FC player has had to apologise.

“I want to apologize for the insensitive comments I have made on social media about the LGBTQ + community,” he tweeted.

“It is a lack of judgment and I take full responsibility for it. I’m sorry, I will learn from this and I will educate myself better.”

In North America, and most parts of the world, laws that prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity have been passed.

Kizza’s club, Montreal Impact, has commented: “CF Montreal has learned of the inadmissible publication of its player Mustafa Kizza on social media.”

Montreal said that they do not tolerate any form of discrimination or prejudice.

The club has accepted Kizza’s apology but he will have to “undergo an awareness and education program on sexual diversity and homophobia.”

Kizza has featured in eight of 11 league games for Montreal Impact this season and will be in action this Thursday as the side welcome New York City FC at the Exploria Stadium in Orlando Florida.
