Uganda Kobs coach Morley Byekwaso has named the final squad for Cecafa U23 tournament.
SC Villa defender Gavin Kizito makes the final squad despite missing the training camp in Saudi Arabia.
The centre-back captained the Uganda Hippos to final of the AFCON U20 Championship in Mauritania.
Uganda is grouped in Pool A alongside Tanzania and guests DR Congo.
Ethiopia will host the regional tournament in the town of Bahir Dar, with the tournament set to kickoff on July 17th.
The tourney was initially scheduled to kickoff on July 3, 2021 before it was pushed for two weeks.
The 23-man squad consists of players that featured in a training camp in Saudi Arabia with Saidi Kyeyune, Eric Kibowa, Hassan Matovu, Isma Mugulusi and Richard Basangwa dropped.
Goalkeepers Saidi Keni and Denis Otim have been added on the squad.
Enock Walusimbi has been retained as the new captain while Charles Lukwago and Kizito are the second and third captains.
The team flies out to Ethiopia today (Wednesday, 14th July 2021) at 3pm aboard Ethiopian Airways.
