Uganda Kobs head coach Morley Byekwaso is confident his side will get a positive result against a DR Congo side when they get their CECAFA U23 group games underway on Sunday.
The championship kicked off on Saturday with hosts Ethiopia playing to a 3-all draw with Ethiopia.
Speaking after the side’s third training session at their base, the gaffer revealed his side’s readiness for the Congo Challenge.
“Our third training session was successful and it has given us hope their was some improvement all players are boosted, they work together generally the team is hungry” states Byekwaso.
The KCCA head coach was full of praise about DR Congo’s offensive game although he says they will cope up with it.
“I think if we play Congo with urgency because they play good football going forward they use their strikers and wingers”.
“So I think If we dont allow them because for them they play without any fear they are confident”. “We must make sure that we put them under alot of pressure to stop them from doing what they know best”.
“I think God willingly we shall shall get the result”.
This is the 41st edition of annual CECAFA Challenge Cup an international football tournament made of national teams of the member nations of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA), Uganda are the defending champions after winning it in 2019.
It’s scheduled to take place from 17th July to 31st July with 9 teams with DR Congo participating as guest teams.
