Brian Majwega has penned down an emotional tribute to his former URA FC bosses.

Earlier last week on July 12th, URA FC confirmed the exit of defender cum winger after the player had a two-year spell with the Tax Collectors since joining from Maroons FC in 2019.

It is reported that the club chose not to renew his contract due his high demands and the player’s bitter relationship with head coach Sam Simbwa.
Majwega reserved praise and respect on his parting remarks.

“Today I say goodbye to a magnificent club as it is URA FC. I want to thank the club for helping me become a better footballer and for making me and my family feel wonderful during my time there,” Majwega wrote on his Facebook page.

He added: “About two years ago URA, a club that will remain in my heart, gave me the amazing opportunity to play for it. And for me playing for such a huge club in our home league and almost putting our hands on the trophy was a dream come true.

“I can only say thank you to the club, to the fans that have supported me since the first day I wore this jersey and of course thank you and good luck to my team-mates and coaches who helped me settle in since day one not only as a teammates but as friends.

“Today I say goodbye to you but I take with me many memories, lessons and great moments that will live with me forever. It has been one of the best years of my football career.”

He leaves his club after guiding them to the second place finish in the Uganda Premier League last season hence they booked a place to play in the Caf confederation Cup next season.

The former Azam FC wished his former side success in their forthcoming engagements.

“At last I want to wish URA FC many successes for the future and thank the club for giving me the opportunity to leave and have a new challenge in my career. Thank you with all my heart.

Majwega’s next destination is yet to be known but according to reports, he is being linked to a potential return to the Lugogo based side KCCA FC.

After the release of left back Moses Kalanzi, KCCA are yet to find a perfect replacemet for roving leftback Mustafa Kizza ever since he joined Montreal Impact. And now Majwega, a free agent looks to be a viable replacement basing on his experience and provenly tested.

If the deal gets done, Majwega will be making his third spell at the club.

In his last stint at Lugogo based club, he fell out with former manager Mike Mutebi and the club over contract disputes.

He has also played for Tanzaian Premier League clubs Azam FC and Simba SC among other clubs.
