Attacking midfielder Rashid Mpata is a hot cake.
The MYDA FC Winger was one of the silver linings in the club’s poor show during their debut season in the Uganda Premier League.
With a year remaining on his contract, Mpata has emerged as a main target for several Uganda Premier League clubs.
UPDF FC, who recently confirmed Brian Ssenyondo as a new coach, has been sighted as the latest suitors.
They join the race led by Vipers who are said to be in advanced talks to land the player at Kitende. Mbarara City and Onduparaka is said to be monitoring the situation of the player.
He was outstanding in what was a difficult season for MYDA FC, bagging a man of the match gong against Mbarara City in one of his many top performances.
He is blessed with quick feet, acceleration, good in one-on-one situations and an ability to create scoring opportunities from nothing.
Mpata joined MYDA in 2019 and was an integral as the club gained Uganda Premier League promotion.
He started at De School Bugiri and has also had spells with Iganga Young and Mwatate United in Kenya.
