Wakiso Giants Part Ways with Midfielder Yasin Mugume

Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants have confirmed the departure of their midfielder Yasin Mugume.

On Friday 23rd July, the club confirmed the new developments via their official club website.

The midfielder leaves the club after spending two seasons since joining from Rwanda’s Rayon Sport in 2019.

“Yasin Mugume and Wakiso Giants have parted ways following the expiry of the winger’s contract,” reads a statement on the club Website.

Mugume arrived at Wakiso Giants in January 2019 from Rwanda’s Rayon Sport making his debut against Amuka Bright Stars and scored in the 3-0 win on the day.

“Everyone at the club would like to wish him all the best for the future.”

The club has it on record that Mugume managed 35 appearances for the Sharks scoring four goals across all competitions.

Since his arrival, limited playing time, failure to cement a starting place at the Purple Sharks has been his major hinderances at the Douglas Bamweyana side.

The Giants are yet to confirm any new signings as they gear up for next season.

Last season, they finished in the ninth position with 36 points after the league was halted, with Express FC being declared as Champions.
