CECAFA U23: Bogere Starts As Byekwaso Names Team For Eritrea Clash

Coach Morley Byekwaso has named his starting team to face Eritrea in a ranking match at the ongoing CECAFA U23 tournament.

Striker Ivan Bogere has been handed his first start in what promises to be a closely contested encounter at the Bahir Dar Stadium in Ethiopia.

Bogere was on target in the 37th minute as Uganda and Eritrea played a 1-1 draw in the 2019 CECAFA U20 Championship at Pece War memorial stadium in Gulu.

Wakiso Giants defender George Kaddu has also been handed his first start and will be playing alongside Musa Ramathan, Enock Walusimbi and Gavin Kizito in a four-man backline.

Charles Lukwago maintains his place in the posts while Bobosi Byaruhanga, Julius Poloto and Karim Watambala all start.

Vipers youngster Najib Yiga who scored Kobs only goal in the 1-0 win over DR Congo starts.

The other starter is Steven Desse Mukwala who missed a penalty before scoring an equaliser as Uganda failed to topple Tanzania.
