SC Villa Confirms Departure of Several Players

Uganda Premier League side SC Villa has confirmed the exit of several players ahead of the 2021/22 season preps.

On Thursday, the Jogoos have revealed the departure of Derrick Ndahiro who is expected to be unveiled by URA FC in the coming days.

Captain Asuman Alishe, Fahad Badiro and Faizal Muwawu have also parted ways with the club after expiry of their contracts.

Alex Wasswa who joined KCCA FC and was recently unveiled by the Lugogo-based side, agreed to terminate his contract, Villa has revealed.

Three players – Saidi Keni, Andrew Kiwanuka and Nasser Lukwago – have been given permission to negotiate transfers with any other club.

“The Club takes this opportunity to thank the departing players for their services to the club and wishes them well in their future. You will always be part of the SC Villa family,” reads a statement from the club.

The Migration has been inevitable for the club that grappled in debts and battled relegation for the best part of last season.

Most of these players are leaving the club unpaid for over seven months, it is reported.

Villa, during a congress meeting this month, plotted to line up an estimated player transfer kit of Sh100m to bring eight ‘exceptional’ new signings in the ongoing transfer market.

The Sleeping Giants and 16-time record UPL winners have been a shadow of themselves since they last won the league in 2004.

The Club is set to usher in new leadership after they released an Election road map.
