Paidha Black Angels: Embattled Club Braced for Reshuffle

The hierarchy at Paidha Black Angels are swiftly channeling their energy and resources in preparation for a paradigm shift at the West Nile club.

The West Nile giants have since experienced an unforeseen plummet following their relegation from the Uganda Premier League at the conclusion of the 2018/2019 season.

Their problems further experienced another turn the previous season as they agonizingly saw relegation from the FUFA Big League thus prompting the desire to head back to the drawing board in order to lift themselves back from this undesirable predicament.

The Blacks finished bottom of the Elgon group this season having collected just five points, subjecting them to an entire season in the West Nile Regional League for the first time in many years.

During the meeting held last week with the stakeholders, the committee agreed that elections for new executives be carried out at the club but also registration of membership for club stakeholders was on the cards.

The resolution was to have the elections scheduled for August and only registered members are set to vote for the new executives.

These plans to put their house in order come at the right time with the club having already lost three of their longest serving players: Odargiu Khalid, Choka Julius and Otingcwinyu Erick to West Nile rivals Calvary FC. The mass exodus is set to continue with many other first team players.

The list of possible departures is elastic with players like Ssonko Ronald, Omara Walter, Pimundu Vincent, Kenneth Kaunda, Magumba Farouk Shaban, Wandera Isaac, Okello Denis, Aweko Victor, Obai Fenihas and Mwaka Steven.

To bridge this now big gap, the club is intent on signing quality and experienced players with the aim being geared towards gaining promotion back to the Big League.

The West Nile team is also intensifying their search for a head coach with reports citing negotiations with former Ndejje University and Simba Assistant Coach Chan Abdul Malik to take over the touchline.

Chan, currently with Army side Air Force FC in Entebbe is a CAF C holder and once appointed, he will work with former Police and Paidha Black Angels striker Nega Abraham and Chancelee Morgan.
