Alex Isabirye permanently commits future to BUL FC

Barely a year since parting ways with Uganda Premier League side BUL FC, Alex Isabirye, has rebounded to yet again takeover the head coach role on a permanent basis.

His unprecedented return to the club was in April this very year as caretaker following the sack of his predecessor Arthur Kyesimira, a position he would foresee until the end of the premature conclusion to the season.

The hugely popular gaffer has now signed a two year contract with the club that will see his stay stretch till the year 2023.

According to the club CEO Ahmed Kongola though, plans of an extension seem a possibility following the performance of the team.

Hugely known for his vibrant and engaging character, Isabirye created history by helping the club finish eighth in the 2019/2020 season with only ten games under his belt as head coach.

His permanent stay will surely be an assurance that the club gets to reminisce such moments and effectively wash away the misery his predecessor Arthur Kyesimira subjected them to.

He will however have to be more assertive and daring as the competition in the league has gradually improved since the last time he got to taste the waters. The good news is that he doesn’t seem to be oblivious to this fact.

Isabirye said as much in his press conference at the unveiling: “I am aware of the improvements in competition but I come with massive experience having won a number of trophies in my managerial career. We shall handle the competition.”

He would go ahead to pledge his commitment to a longer stay at the club this time round citing the fact that his ambitions now resonate and have a direct proportional relationship with the objectives of the club.

During this spell, Isabirye will be deputized by Richard Kasule Bakabulindi, Daniel Kabale and James Magala in that order while Noah Kasule will be fitness coach, Kenneth Magada will be the goalkeeper coach and club legend Patrick Asiku will take-over the chief scout role.

The third coming of Alex Isabirye might present a lot of hope for the Busoga fans but make no mistake about it, the job comes with it’s difficulties and his strong mentality might be on taste yet again. It might end up being a taste of what he learnt and what he didn’t during his first stint.
