Fred Okot Joins New UPL Team

Former UPDF FC fullback Fred Okot is believed to have completed his anticipated move to Arua Hill following successful negotiations and agreement as regards personal terms between both parties.

The player is further believed to have put pen to paper on a two years employment contract with the West Nile giants as they beef up their squad for the forthcoming 2021/22 season.

Formally with URA and Vipers, the right-back has had an adventurous career in the Ugandan top-flight league which as one would argue has been detrimental to his development as a player.

His times at both URA and Vipers were short-lived and were characterized by injuries and dismal performances, thereby provoking the debate of him not being good enough for the competition.

Okot’s release by UPDF last year, which coincided with his unfortunate penalty miss against Kyetume only to see his then side agonizingly lose the game 1-0 didn’t help matters.

He would later join the then league debutants MYDA where he didn’t seem so impressive as he saw relegation, did further maintain the grip on his development and didn’t help the situation.

First forward and he joins yet another league debutant to continue with the trend. He will however hope for different luck in terms of the relegation dogfight this time round.

Okot joins five other new arrivals at the club that include: Andama Junior, Faizul Ibrahim, Yusuf Sharif Saaka, Ivan Eyam and Innocent Maduka.
