Mbarara City duo Mukundane, Ssekeba Linked To Moves Elsewhere

Following the reported departure of Mbarara City head coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi, the club has witnessed a plethora of challenges with the core being the uncertainty around the futures of key players to the team.

Two instrumental players – skipper Hillary Mukundane and goalkeeper Muhammad Ssekeba – are linked with moves to army side UPDF FC.

The proposed moves for both players is deemed imminent by a source close to the club factoring in the various difficulties and challenges with the technical team that the club is still working around to stabilize.

Mukundane, according to a source, has also received offers from both URA and Express FC.

The-SportsNation has learnt that Mukundane has just about two months left on his employment contract which permits him to speak to any club of his choice.

The player is said to be waiting for what the club will offer when fresh negotiations for a new contract with the Mbarara City before making any decisions about his future.

Just the previous week, Mbarara City released five players including Bashir Mutanda (who only joined them the previous season), John Adriko, Salim Huud, Jackson Opio and Chato Bamba.

Innocent Wafula reportedly joined KCCA earlier last month while Ivan Eyam crossed to new entrants Arua Hill where he intends to stage a much better challenge and competition for positions.

With the departure of Livingstone Mbabazi and his assistant Sadick Sempiji, the club seems slow in making progress towards beefing up the playing squad with only one addition of Aaron Okoth from Eastern Regional side Admin FC.

The general feeling is that the club has had a negative approach to the transfer window but that just might be due the fact that the club is yet to confirm a new technical team. The clock seems to be ticking and it’s high time they did something.
