Bright Stars FC Renews Mugerwa’s Contract

Uganda Premier League side Soltilo Bright Stars have renewed the employment contract of their assistant coach Simon Mugerwa.

The new developments were confirmed on the club’s media platforms with the two parties having reached an agreement to renew their marriage.

Mugerwa, who joined the bombo based side in 2019, has been instrumental in the club growth on and off the pitch.

Upon the announcement, the gaffer could not hide his delight after renewing his employment contract at the club.

“I am very happy that Soltilo Bright Stars FC has trusted me to continue the project we started 2 years ago. I am ready to work towards taking this club to greater heights.”

In the same context, the club’s chief executive officer Mathias Zzibu Mugwanya would also use the same platform to praise the assistant coach.

“Simon has been very instrumental especially in the recruitment process. He has shown that he is one of the best coaches in the country. He has exhibited a good work ethic and the club is proud to have him commit to a long term contract”

Mugerwa’s coaching roles come a long way from his time at Buddo SS.

The gaffer has also worked with Buddu, and also important to note, he is a Masaza Cup winning coach with Bulemeezi in 2019, after they beat Busiro in the finals held at Namboole stadium.

He has also worked with Uganda premier league of side SC Villa as an assistant coach in recent times.

Last season, Mugerwa was part of the team that finished fifth in the league with 42 points, their best performance since promotion to the top flight football. It might be one of the strong reasons that his bosses handed him a new employment contract.

The club has however some of its key players last season and these are Joseph Akandwanaho to Express FC, Samuel Ssekamate to Arua Hill SC, and Veteran goal keeper Godwin Buule Kiwanuka. They have only confirmed one new signing in Meddie Kyeyune, who return to the club.
