Uganda Cranes assistant coach Charles Livingston Mbabazi was absent at today’s technical team meeting that convened at FUFA house in Mengo.
The-SportsNation sources have learnt that Mbabazi did not inform the Cranes head coach or anyone concerned about his effectively orchestrated plan.
Mbabazi was appointed as the assistant coach to Milutin Micho Sredejovic with a prerequisite that his allegiances were to be maintained for only the national team and that he wasn’t supposed to hold any employment commitments with local clubs.
The Cranes contract came barely a fortnight after the former Mbarara City FC coach reportedly joined Arua Hill. Eye-witnesses have since alleged to have seen him take charge of his first training at the West Nile club.
It is understood that Mbabazi will choose Arua Hill over Uganda Cranes assistant coach job.
Arua Hill reportedly paid Mbabazi Sh35m as sign-on fee and Sh7m as monthly Salary compared to the said Sh3m he is expected to get as the assistant of Micho!
With no details at the moment, The-SportsNation has learnt that the meeting at FUFA which was attended by MIicho and his backroom staff, was to devise means of preparing for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Micho is expected to name the Cranes team that will commence training soon, as a reported training camp in Saudi Arabia seems to be in the pipeline as well.
Uganda Cranes open their World Cup qualifiers against Kenya on September 1 before their first home game against Mali at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende five days later.
