Proline FC head coach Anthony Bongole has set his sights and expectations on winning the FUFA Big League Playoffs Finals against Gaddafi FC to ensure that his side earns promotion into the topflight league for the upcoming season.
He said this while attending his post match press interview following his side’s 2-1 victory against Blacks Power FC in Sunday’s second semi-finals game.
Erias Omokori had earlier given Black Power a first half lead before Brian Mato’s equaliser in the second half, followed by Brian Umony’s late strike to stage a successful comeback at Njeru Technical Centre.
“The victory gives us motivation but also shows that we as a team still have the winning touch. We have to continue with this kind of approach if we are to earn promotion back to the league.” He highlighted.
He added on that he will take the same as they head into the finals on Tuesday
“It is important to remember that by the time we finished the regular season, we were on a winning run of five games. This means we can still continue winning.” The gaffer added.
Bongole was however in the green about Black Power and admitted to not knowing much about them.
He would further anticipate a tactical and but yet exciting encounter when the two sides lock horns in the decider on Tuesday August 17th.
Proline, who were relegated from the UPL during the 2019/20 season will be looking to capitalize on their rich history at this stage considering that their opponents are merely debutants.
The venue for the finals is maintained and there won’t be fans given the fact that there should be adherence to set COVID-19 SOPs as required by the Ministry of Health.
On the same day, Arua Hill and Tooro United who topped their respective groups will face off in the FUFA Big League finals.
