Uganda Cranes: Captain Okwi Expresses Confidence In Coach Micho

Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Micho Sredejovic is the right man for the job according to team captain Emmanuel Okwi.

Okwi and Gift Ali joined the team as Uganda Cranes entered day two of their preparations for the World Cup Qualifiers on Tuesday.

The team had their session at Lugogo and Okwi says that the boys are ready to conquer.

“The boys are looking so sharp, and we are ready for the Friendlies and Qualifiers,” Okwi stated in Tuesday morning.

“I am looking at something positive to come out of the boys. The new boys on the team have a lot to prove but we are not going to put them under pressure. They just have to concentrate and do what the coach tells them to do and everything will be well, we shall be there to guide them.”

Micho, 51, is in charge of the team after the Serbian was handed a three-year contract.

Okwi added: “Micho knows the team and country well, he knows what the players want and I believe he has learnt so much from the time he has not been here.

“We are looking forward to what he is going to bring and ready to put into practice what he teaches.”

Uganda Cranes, pooled alongside neighbors Kenya, Rwanda and Mali in the World Cup Qualifiers, will be leaving for training camp in Jordan over the weekend.

They will play two friendlies with Syria before facing Ethiopia in the last friendly ahead of Kenya and Mali games at the start of next month.
