The prospect of teaming up with Emmanuel Okwi has left Steven Mukwala purring as the URA FC striker takes the Cranes captain in high regard.
The URA marksman’s recent national call-up puts him on the list of few faces who have ever been coached by of Micho during his first stint at the national team.
And speaking during a brief interview Mukwala says he’s grateful to be part of the team that will play the World Cup Qualifiers.
“I feel so delighted to be part of the summoned team which is going to play the world Cup Qualifiers against Kenya and Rwanda”, stated Mukwala.
“Its my second time to work under coach Micho am so happy to work with him again”.
“The competition is stiff basically me as a player am ready to compete so as a player I put up a good performance and I give coach Micho food for thought.”
Emmanuel Okwi is one of the experienced players in the team and he was named the Captain of the national team after Denis Onyango and Hassan Waswa retired from International duties.
“As a player am honoured to play with Senior and experienced players like Emmanuel Okwi who are guiding me to make sure that am on the right track”.
Uganda Cranes is placed in Group E of the World Cup Qualifiers alongside Kenya, Rwanda and Mali.
They will kickoff their qualification on 2nd September against Kenya in Nairobi before hosting Mali at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on 6th.
