KCCA FC new signing Geoffrey Wasswa is adamant that competition in his position will massively help his personal improvement alongside that of the teammates.
Wasswa, who signed for the Lugogo giants as a free agent following his contract expiry at SC Villa but turned down advances from another Premier League club along the way.
The muscular centre-half has also previously played for Vipers prior to his move to Villa. While with the Venoms, he won the 2017 edition of the Uganda Cup and two Uganda Premier League titles in the years of 2018 and 2020.
During his first interview following the unveiling as a KCCA player on a two years deal, Wasswa highlighted his gratitude and readiness to take the team where they belong.
“Am happy to join one of the biggest clubs in the country. The competition is something I embrace because it’s not only about me but the entire team and helping each other as players will be important for us.” He assured the KCCA FC media.
“Football is all about competition and I think being in this position, it is upon us to help each other and am ready to help my colleagues to see that we improve”. He added.
He further speaks about his intentions to help the team to win trophies and promised the fans and stakeholders his commitment to bringing back smiles on their faces.
Wasswa will face competition from players like: Denis Iguma, Peter Magambo, John Revita, Kato Samuel and Musa Ramathan to break into the starting lineup.
The former Uganda U20 and U23 player joins Brian Majwega, Brian Kayanja, Emmanuel Wasswa, Yasser Mugerwa and Usama Arafat who have already signed for the Kasasiro boys.
