Egypt are set to miss star player Mohamed Salah at the forthcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers next month.

Egypt coach Hossam El-Badry had included the Liverpool dangerman in the squad to prepare for the games.

However, Liverpool has refused to release the player due to quarantine restrictions because Egypt is on the UK Government’s red travel list.

This means that Salah will have to quarantine for 10 days upon his return to Liverpool from Egypt, which will make him miss about two games for his club.

“A letter was sent from Liverpool to us announcing that they can’t let Salah join the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers camp for Angola and Gabon,” reads a letter from Egypt FA, in part.

It is said that Liverpool has done the same with some of other players from different nations.

Per reports in Egypt, the country FA is set to engage FIFA so that they can have Salah available.

It should be noted that Liverpool also refused to allow Salah join the Egyptian Olympic team’s squad for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
