Viper’s long drawn search for new coach nearing the end

It has been close to three months since Fred Kajoba’s resignation from Vipers SC’s hotseat and just under two months until the side open their new Uganda Premier League campaign.

The bombshell news to the Vipers SC faithful is that the club appears closer to filling the vacant head coach post after has giving a hint on its social media platforms.

The development has left local football fans guessing on who will be the side’s new coach.

The Kitende based side could retaliate that the picture that has been painted around their search hasnot been long-drawn as it appears from the outside.

Club President Lwarance Mulindwa made it clear that the club will bind their time as they are looking for “a professional coach who will add value to the team even it means to break the bank”.

At it appears that the club has found their man.

Given the way football negotiations tend to work, they have almost certainly not made an official offer to anyone, and therefore could claim they have not been turned down by anyone either.

However, soundings have been taken. With Coach Mike Mutebi out of work coinciding with Vipers SC search for new coach , it was apparent that rumours were to swirl around the eccentric gaffer.

Mulindwa is has been a long time admirer of Mike Mutebi’s work and it was evident that in the event that Mutebi was available, it would have been negligent to have ignored some one of the caliber.

Whlist, speculation persists around Mutebi, but both parties have distanced themselves from the rumors.
The return of Abdallah Mubiru was never on the cards at least if Lwarance Mulindwa’s requisite for the side’s next head coach are to be looked into.

The wantaway Police FC coach was tauted as a possible option but the authenticity of those reports had lots of question marks.

Pundits have defended the way the club has handled the situation arguing that the fire and hire culture at Vipers SC hasnot bore the desired fruits. So taking time to appoint the next coach is key.

But sources close to the Vipers corridors of power have alleged that the side is also considering a foreign coach as an option.

The four time Uganda Premier League Champions started started off their pre-season preparations on Wednesday.
