KCCA FC Confirms Departure of Two More Players

Uganda Premier League side KCCA have confirmed the departure of defenders Moses Aliro and Kato Samuel.

Via their official website, the 13-time league winners have confirmed that the departure has been by “mutual consent”.

The players and their respective representatives sat down with the club and agreed to part ways, KCCA FC has stated.

Aliro who is an academy graduate signed his first senior professional contract with KCCA in 2020 which was supposed to expire in January 2025.

Kato joined KCCA FC in June 2019 and signed a contract for four and half years.

Kato had earlier bid farewell to the Lugogo based club.

Ivan Kalanzi, Filbert Obenchan, Keziron Kizito, Steven Serwadda and Hassan Matovu are the other players to have left Lugogo.

Serwadda signed for Major League Soccer side Newyork Red Bulls while Goalkeeper Hassan Matovu joined Uganda Premier League side Soltilo Bright Stars.

Kato Samuel Inks Farewell

In his farewell letter, Kato showed his gratitude to the Lugogo based club for giving him the platform.

“Today I say goodbye to the greatest club in Uganda,” reads the farewell in part.

Kato was part of the KCCA FC squad that won the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Club and also played in qualification games for the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup.

“All the above have made me a better player and human being and I do not take that for granted. I am grateful for everything from my teammates, coaches and everyone at the club who made sure I became the person I am today on and off the pitch.

“I also want in a special way to thank Coach Mike Hillary Mutebi who believed in me from day one and gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent on the biggest stage in Uganda and continent, the trust he showed me only motivated me to do better”.
