Weatherhead are through to the next round after obliterating Kampala Hockey Team Originals in Uganda Cup.

Weatherhead managed to win with 14-0 in the first leg before clinching another convincing 16-0 win in the return leg on Sunday.

Their second leg game was given a kickstart with a goal by Brian Okodi who scored in the 6th minute.

The head Coach Kasasa Vincent attributed the team’s success to the correct use of tactics.

“We beat the Originals by 12 goals the past weekend, yesterday we scored 14 goals and today we scored 16 goals which shows that my players are talented and improving with each game they play. It’s a team to watch out for,” said Coach Kasasa.

Weatherhead will lock horns with Kampala Hockey Stallions.

The Kampala Hockey Stallions managed to overcome Kampala rockets with a hard fought 3-1 win to go through having won 1-0 in the first leg.

The Rockets couldn’t get saved by the only goal that was scored in the 47th minute by Wambyala Frank as this was the knockout stage.

Kampala Hockey Club Women’s team picked a 1-1 draw with Rhinos who went into the game trailing the first leg 2-1.

WeatherHead Historicals hustled to keep at peace with the youthful Makerere University Stingers who put up a tough contest.

The Historicals had secured their win in the first leg 4-2 against the Stingers which was a score to defend.

Kasasa Vincent scored in the 18th minute but Bayuule Brian brought Stingers level in the 34th minute.

The Uganda Hockey League resumes next weekend on the 18th September and will take place at Lugogo Hockey grounds. Uganda Cup will return on the 25th of the same month.
