Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC have mutually parted with ways with their youthful defender Joseph Kafumbe.
The confirmation was made official on Wednesday September 15th via the club’s official website.
Initially, Kafumbe had signed a four year’s contract with the Lugogo based side at the start of the 2019/20 season. His contract was set to run until July 2023. However the club has decided to part ways with the player before the end of his duration.
Kafumbe, a KCCA Soccer academy graduate, leaves the club after two years of senior football. He was promoted to the senior team by then head coach Mike Hillary Mutebi in July 2019.
Since then, the defender has failed to cement a starting place in the team. And now, under the stewardship of new gaffer Morley Byekwaso, the story has been the same and thus need to find a new team for enough playing time.
Kafumbe joins forward Juma Balinya, Moses Aliro and Samuel Kato who also agreed to mutually terminate their contracts with the club.
Defender Moses Kalanzi, Keziron Kizito, goalkeeper Hassan Matovu and Filbert Obenchan are the other players that departed at the club. For Midfielder Steven Sserwadda, he was sold to New York Red Bulls.
As the transition Process takes centre stage at the club, more players are said to be on their way out given the fact that mass recruitment has taken place.
