Uganda Hippos striker Derrick Kakooza has embarked on a new journey with his new club Valmiera FC.
Valmiera FC is a football club playing in the Virslīga, the highest division of Latvia, a country in the Northern part of Europe.
Kakooza left Uganda this week and started off training with his new club as the side prepares to face Liepaja in the semis of the Latvian Cup.
Kakooza helped Uganda U20 team finish second in the 2021 U20 Africa Cup of Nations held in Mauritania.
He scored five goals en route to the final where they lost 2-0 to Ghana.
The Teenager was strongly linked to Anderlecht of Belgium before the deal hit a dead end.
Kakooza began his career at the Naguru Police Academy where he later joined the Police FC junior team.
The former St Mary’s SS Kitende Student was promoted to the Police FC Senior team in 2017.
