FIFA Rankings: Uganda Drops, Top 10 in Africa and World Revealed

Uganda has dropped by two places in the latest FIFA Rankings released on Thursday, September 16 2021.

The Cranes are currently 86th, a fall from 84th when the last rankings were released on August 12.

The Cranes, captained by Emmanuel Okwi are now ranked 18th in Africa.

It should be noted that Uganda started the year 2021 in 79th place!

The latest drop was inevitable after Cranes managed two points from both World Cup qualifiers.

Uganda, who lost to Ethiopia in a Friendly, picked an away point against Kenya in a goalless draw before replicating the same scoreline at Kitende when they hosted Mali.

The Cranes, under new coach Micho, will seek to make amends when they face Rwanda in a double header next month.

Mali has dropped by a place to 61st despite leading Group E after win over Rwanda and an away point off Uganda.

Other Group E opponents Kenya and Rwanda are now ranked 102 and 128 respectively.
