SC Villa Confirms Home Ground for 2021/22 Season

Uganda Premier League record holders SC Villa have revealed their new home venue and training ground ahead of the upcoming season.

The new developments were revealed on Monday, as they unveiled their Greek Coach Petros Koukouras as head coach for the club.

Villa CEO Shawn Mubiru confirmed that the Joggos will host their home games at FUFA Technical centre in Njeru and have their trainings at Uganda Martyrs in Lubaga.

Previously, the club has had trainings at Villa park in Nsambya, a facility that has now been affected by the ongoing construction of the Kampala-Jinja road Fly over.

And for past the seasons, Villa have hosted games at Mandela National stadium ‘Namboole’ and Bombo Military grounds of recent.

Villa, who have been a shadow of themselves since 2004 when they last won the league are yet to find a permanent home for the club.

Of recent, the club presidency elections that were slated in August were called off after a court order.

However as the club seeks to have a new look, they have tried to make adjustments starting with the technical team, with the acquisition of a new coach. The Greek Coach Petros Koukouras will be deputised by former KCCA FC youthful coach Jackson Magera.

In the ongoing transfer window, the club has acquired signatures of many young players that include Isma Mugulusi, Ali Bayo, Kenneth Ssemakula, Oscar Mawa, Among others.
