CAF Champions League: Express FC Stranded At Airport

Express FC have been denied access inside the country back from Sudan, The-SportsNation can confirm.

By press time, the team was still held at Entebbe International Airport with the officials claiming they don’t have valid Covid19 tests certificates per reports.

All arriving passengers to Entebbe Airport irrespective of vaccination status or country of origin, are required to arrive with a negative PCR test done 72 hours prior to travel.

These, are required to undergo mandatory screening and carry out a PCR test at their own cost at all points of entry.

Individuals who test positive to COVID-19 shall be treated according to the Ministry of Health protocol for COVID-19.

Express conducted their tests outside the required 72 hours prior to the Sunday game in Obedi.

Express lost to Al-Merrikh 1-0 on Sunday to bow out of the CAF Champions League on away goals rule at the first hurdle.

The side have a Uganda Cup semifinal tie this Thursday against BUL at Njeru.
