Crested Cranes Head coach George Lutalo is impressed with the team’s improvements as the team continues preparations of the upcoming COSAFA tournament.
He made the revelations on Monday, after Crested Cranes 1-0 victory against U20 Women’s National Team in the third practice match at the FUFA Technical centre in Njeru.
Striker Sandra Nabweteme scored the only goal in the game to hand Lutalo’s charges a second victory out of the three build up games. The Crested Cranes won the first build up game 1-0, while U20 Women’s National Team won 4-0 in the second game.
“This has been our third build up game which has been good for both teams. At the moment I thank my team for respecting the team that we have been playing. It has shown that we can keep improving step by step, he added,” said Lutalo.
He added “At the moment, you saw our fitness levels are now raising which gives us hope even to concentrate on other areas like scoring where at this moment we again scored one goal, but am sure when we start working on finishing, we shall be able to score as many goals as we have done.”
All preparations are geared up for the upcoming Cosafa Women’s championship slated to take place between 28th September to 9th October in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Cranes, who are guests at the tournament, are dipped in group C alongside Zambia, Namibia and Eswatini.
With the days fast approaching to the final tournament, Lutalo’s charges will need to work more on their finishing as it seems their only worry at the moment.
