Bright Anukani: Vipers Unveil Former KCCA Midfielder

Four time Uganda Premier League Champions Vipers SC have officially unveiled former KCCA midfielder Bright Anukani on a three years employment contract.

The new developments were confirmed on Friday September 24th via the club’s official website.

“Vipers Sports Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Bright Anukani from Proline Footbal,” reads part of the statement on the club’s website.

Upon his unveiling, Anukani had this to say in his maiden speech to the club’s media:

“I am delighted to have signed for this great club. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Proline FC and would like to thank everyone at the club, and the fans, for their fantastic support over the past seasons. However, when Vipers SC come knocking on your door, it is an incredible opportunity.

“From my conversations with the head coach on day one in training, I am excited about the vision and plans he has for the team. It’s clear to see that Robertinho is building a team to win. I am now looking forward to more pre-season training, friendlies and getting the 2021/22 season started.”

Anukani joins the Venoms from Fufa Big league side Proline FC, a side he joined in 2017. At Proline, the 21 year old made 45 appearances and went on to score 23 goals.

Last season, the Midfielder spent the season at Uganda Premier league side KCCA FC where he was on a season long loan.

At the national team, Anukani has featured in the 2020 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) and previously the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.

Anukani becomes the second official signing in the just concluded transfer window after goalkeeper Jack Komakech who recently joined the club.

At Vipers, he comes an exciting player and will prove to be a big addition at the Kitende based side.

In the concluded transfer market, the club lost Abraham Ndugwa, goalkeeper Bashir Sekagya, and sent a number of players on loan as well.
