“After two years of no regional tour we are back,” said coach Micho.

“I am very happy that we are starting our journey to many places around Uganda. The fans are the spiritual owners of the Uganda Cranes, the team is symbolically kick starting their do or die clashes against Rwanda, and this will be our first test.

“We shall gain so much football wise.”

After back-to-back draws against Kenya and Mali in the Group E of the qualifiers, there will be no room for error for coach Micho against Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars.

The Eastern Select Team will be coached by Godfrey ‘Toldo’ Awachango who recently named a squad of 22 players, mostly from Mbale Heroes, Kataka and Admin FC.

The team has been training for the whole of this week and had a friendly match with Mbale Select at the Mbale Municipal stadium.
