Busoga United Confirms 34-Man Squad for new 2021/22 Season

Uganda Premier League side Busoga United have confirmed their 34-man Squad ahead of the new 2021/22 Season.

With the new season fast approaching, the Jinja based club have beefed up their ranks with 12 new signings, six players from the conducted trials and three youngsters who were promoted from the club’s youth system.

Amongst the players that were signed by the Jinja based side include goalkeepers Lazarus Obulejo and Andrew Ssekandi who joined from Regional League side Buikwe Red Stars and MYDA FC respectively.

Other new recruits joining the long list include Peter Onzima (BUL), Derrick Basoga (MYDA), Douglas Bithum (BUL), Daniel Ekoyu (Kitara), Elvis Kibbale (BUL) and Taban Tibiita (Tooro United) Anwar Ntege (BUL), Stephen Okello (MYDA), Rashid Mpata (MYDA) and Junior Joseph Mukisa (Western Stima).

From the trials conducted in August at Kakindu, the club managed to pick players like Ronald Kasamba (Walukuba West), Moses Odong (JMC Hippos) Hassan Kintu ( Blacks Power), Charles Sunday Mulanda (Busia United), Nicholas Mwere (Kakira United) and Fredrick Ngalo.

The club also promoted three youngsters from it’s youth ranks that include Fred Massa, Fred Logono and Hussein Ssajjabbi.

Recently the club confirmed Kikomeko Abbey Bogere as their head Coach ahead of the new season.He will be assisted by Jalendo Jimmy, who was elevated from the Fitness coach role.

Last season, Busoga United spent the best part of the season battling relegation as they finished 13th on the UPL log with 26 points after 26 games played.
