Vipers Midfielder In Rwanda Provisional Squad To Face Uganda Cranes

Vipers midfielder Jamil Kalisa has been named in a 36-man squad summoned by Rwanda Amavubi Stars coach Vincent Mashami to start preparations for the Uganda Cranes game in upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Kalisa joined Vipers at the start of last season where he agreed a four-year deal to move to Kitende.

He has since found playing time hard to come by since signing the lucrative the deal.

Kalisa who was the Futsal Super League MVP for the 2017/18 season with Dream FC, started his career with National Sports Academy before joining Lungujja Galaxy.

He then moved to Bright Stars in the 2018/19 season.

He will hope to make the final squad for Rwanda who lost to Mali before drawing one-all with Kenya in their first two World Cup Qualification games.

Rwanda face Uganda Cranes in a double header – The first match will be played in Kigali where the Amavubi Stars on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Kigali Stadium.

The second match will be played on October 10, 2021 at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Othee familiar faces in Rwanda squad include former KCCA FC defender Samuel Kato Nemeyimana, Denis Rukundo who left Police FC and Isaac Nsengiyunva who was at Express FC recently.

Te national team’s preparations will start on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 and the team will be hosted at the La Palisse Hotel, per FERWAFA.
