Rams II Readies for National Rugby 7s

Second division side Rams II are preparing for the National Rugby Sevens which are set to get underway this weekend with the Mileke 7s at Legends Rugby Ground in Lugogo.

Rams II are a Junior side for MRI Rams that compete in the top tier.

They are trying to use every opportunity available to keep their athletes fit and in position to have a competitive advantage.

The side has been pitted in Group D alongside Toyota Buffaloes, Plascon Mongers and Stallions.

Rams II have so far played two build up games, home and away, against the Jaguars.

The home games were played at Impis Rugby grounds on the 12th of September and the away games at Entebbe Mayor’s Pitch on 26th of September.

The Rams II have been training at Mulago Sports field and Impis Rugby grounds under the guidance of coach Musa Rajab Abubakar.

Coach Musa Rajab said: “We have used the games to test out the new players that have just added to the team.”

They defeated the Jaguars on their first meeting 10-00 at Impis Grounds on the 12th of September.

In the second friendly, they squeezed out a 10-07 win thanks to tries from Marvin Mugabe and Elijah Massa.
