Netball Super League: Dominant Prisons Run Riot Against Luweero

Uganda Prisons Netball Club club returned to winning ways with a dominant 63-31 victory over Ugx Luweero Netball Club in the Netball Super League affair at Luzira Prisons Netball courts.

It was one of the two fixtures lined-up for Wednesday.
Reeling from a deflating defeat against NIC NC last time out, The Prison Queens were in unstoppable shape, chipping in goals of all shapes and sizes at their own home against their hapless Luweero opponents.

From the first whistle, Coach Imeldah Nyongesa’s side painted a picture of a team to beat winning the first two quarters 15-07 and 30-18 respectively.

Nyongesa made a tweak in her starting lined-up giving a nod to youthful players.

However, the last quarters saw the introduction of experienced stalwarts in Skipper Ajio Lillian and Ruth Meeme and ideally putting the game beyond the visitors’ reach.

Goal attacker Tabia Dorothy and Goal shooter Natukunda Rosemary were cheif protagonist of the mulling that saw the Luzira based side record their second victory of the season, and catapult up in the ten team table standings.

Prisons take on bitter rivals KCCA in their next outing over the weekend.

Police NC, for their part, countinued with their winning streak with a 57-36 victory over Posta Uganda at Weyonje grounds, Kibuli.

The Cops trounced KBK 57-24 in their previous game, and Wednesday’s victory meant that they kept their 100% start to the new season remains intact.
