Express FC new signing Raymond Walugembe scored a brace against his former pay masters Kyetume FC in a friendly at Wankulukuku on Friday.
Walugembe joined the Red Eagles from the Slaughters in a deadline day move of the concluded transfer window.
The former Buddu (Masaza Cup) striker signed a two-year deal to stay at Wankulukuku.
His brace will leaves Wasswa Bbosa optimistic ahead of the new season as the Red Eagles seek to defend the League.
Joseph Akandwanaho, another new signing, scored the other goal for Express FC.
Denis Lubowa had earlier equalised for Kyetume FC as the first half ended 1-1.
Kyetume are preparing for life back in FUFA Big League after they were relegated alongside MYDA and Kitara FC.
The Red Eagles, who were last week eliminated out of CAF Champions League and beaten in Stanbic Uganda Cup semis by BUL FC, will get the 2021/22 UPL season underway with a home game against newcomers Arua Hill on October 15.
