Kiwanuka to Deputise Matia Lule at Mbeya City

Former Arua Hill SC assistant coach Joseph Kiwanuka is set to deputise former Uganda Cranes assistant coach Matia Lule at Tanzania premier league side Mbeya City FC, The SportsNation can confirm.

Last season, Kiwanuka was part of Hussein Mbalangu’s technical bench and served as the assistant coach at the West Nile side in their promotional Campaign to the Uganda Premier league.

However, the CAF B licenced coach was let go by the club, together with the rest of the technical staff following the disagreements between two parties.

Before his stint at Arua Hill, Kiwanuka started his coaching career with South African side Sashanguve Shinning Stars FC in 2010. The same year he helped the U14 of Pretoria University with football education.

He also had coaching spells with Arcadia Shepherd, Express FC, DRC side Bukavu Dawa FC and Mbarara City FC.

He will now be joining Matia Lule, a CAF A licensed coach who was named as head coach for the Tanzanian Side in December last year.

Lule has since been with the club for one season and they finished 10th with 42 points in the 2020/21 Tanzania premier league.

After two games played in the new 2021/22 Tanzania premier league season, Mbeya City currently 4th with four points after two games played (W1, D1).
