President Museveni Directs Allocation of Land to Uganda Boxing Federation

President Museveni has directed the Uganda Land Commission to allocate land to Uganda Boxing Federation for construction of a state of the art boxing academy.

According to the letter that was shared to this website, the local boxing Custodians asked the President for land in their efforts to see the game of boxing to takes significant strides.

“Since Government has always supported the development of Sports, you should identify and allocate at least 10 acres within the radius of 30 miles from Kampala to them,” Museveni told Beatrice Nyakaisiki, chairperson of Uganda Lands Commission.

“However, clear covenants should be included in their lease agreement so that Government can reprocess the land if they are unable to develop it within a given period of time.”

It’s believed UBF is looking forward to partner with the international Boxing Federation to construct a boxing facility.

This is a huge milestone for UBF and a commendable achievement for Federation President Moses Muhangi since he was voted into leadership in January 2018.

Boxing, with four Olympics medals, is one of Uganda’s Sports disciplines that has marketed the country on the international scene.
