The maiden edition of the Immy Mudoola Rugby tournament is set take place this Saturday, 09th of October at Kyaddondo Rugby Grounds.
The U-20 only women tournament is staged in honour of lmmy Mudoola who has been at the forefront of the growth and development of Rugby in the country.
She is the mother of Charlotte Mudoola, Timothy Mudoola and Fred Mudoola who have all succeed at the sport.
Atim Beatrice Lamunu, the Women Development officer with Uganda Rugby Union stated that, “The tournament aims at growing the sport among women U20 and will be an annual event.
“The U20 women will be involved in the Commonwealth Games that will take place next year; 2022 in Birmingham. This comes as an early preparation strategy.”
The event is sponsored by the Uganda Rugby Union and so far teams; AQRA, Black Opals, Kyadondo Pigeons, Kisubi Lady Pacers, and Makerere Ewes have confirmed participation.
