Makerere University Reveal Squads For Kings of Africa Games Rugby 7s

Makerere University Coach Emmanuel Katuntu has named his squads for the Kings of Africa Rugby games.

The games will take place this weekend, 9th and 10th October at Makerere University.

Besides Rugby, Tennis is the other game on the menu.

The tournament will enable FISU to obtain teams that will represent the continent in Karzan, Russia next year.

So far, 13 Men’s Rugby Teams, three women Rugby teams and 13 men’s tennis teams have confirmed participation.

The teams representing Makerere University in the different disciplines have been in a residential camp at the campus for the past month and this has given the athletes an opportunity to polish and build team chemistry.

The other Men’s teams that have confirmed participation in the second edition of the Kings of Africa Rugby include; United States International University – Africa, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology, Kenyatta University, Mery University, Daystar University, Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria, Kabale Univeristy, and University of Johannesburg.

The Women’s rugby teams that have confirmed participation are University of Pretoria and University of Johannesburg.

The Rugby games will take place at the Impis Grounds commonly referred to as the Graveyard and the tennis games will take place at the Main Grounds.

Makerere University has been in preparation for the games and all is set for the games.

Makerere University Men – Maina Trevor, Mugisha James, Ssemakula Mark Maurice, Josiah Ssempeke, Weraga Keith, Shimwa Davis, Kwebiiha Gabriel, Omaria Samuel, Ochieng Blaise, Olweny Moses, Luhoni Jonathan, Lubega Shakul, and Mpoza Pius.

Makerere University Women – Mwenyango Sherinah, Nakato Agatha, Comfort Angayika, Mirembe Esther, Nankya Winfred, Nagudi Elizabeth, Nakato Carol, Kimberly Nambooze, Mbeiza Pauline, Nakibuuka Anette, Nakato Caroline, Yudaya Nalubega, Mariam Ansimire, Mable Birungi, and Anyango Mariam.
