Uganda National team for Swimming that will compete at the CANA Junior and Senior Swimming Championship in Ghana, has been flagged off.
National Council of Sports Assistant General Secretary David Katende urged them to lift Uganda’s flag high.
“We believe in you, We know this tournament means a lot and will be helpful ahead of the World championships in Abu Dhabi, as council we will be eager to recieve you back home with victory,” said Katende.
The Competition will be held in Accra Ghana due October 11-17th.
The Swimmers are Joshua Lumunya, Mubiru Swagiah, Steve Magera, Fadil Saleh, Tendo Mukalazi, Kirabo Namutebi and team captain Adnan Kabuye.
“We have had good preparations as team Uganda with some of my collegues in Kazan Russia. We are goingbto Accra to compete not to participate,” Team captain Adnan Kabuye team commented.
Uganda Swimming Federation President Moses Mwase believes that despite late confirmation that this is a qualifier for the World Championship; the swimmers will make good use of it.
The team is under the technical guidance of Erick Kisero who believes that swimmers will target to qualify for December’s world championship in Abu Dhabi.
