Female Kickboxer Patricia Apolot To Battle Argentine in Cairo

Uganda’s Champion Patricia Apolot is set to return to the ring on the 23rd this month against Argentina’s Andrea Salazar.

The fight will be in Cairo Egypt as Apolot seeks to defend her International title belt.

The fight is confirmed in Lowkick in Superlightweight.

Her camp has been boosted with 5000 US Dollars from the Mayor Kampala Central Salim Uhuru Nsubuga who also doubles as the President Uganda Professional Boxing Commission (UPBC) and division councillors.

“I was approached by Patricia (Apolot) seeking for support and when I talked to the council, they passed the resolution to support her with 5000 dollars equivalent to 17.5 million,” said Uhuru.

“I have supported the Sports fraternity for long and with no doubt I will continue using my position as a Mayor to solicite support for sportsmen from all potential sponsors.”

Apolot has expressed readiness to defend the World title that she currently holds.

“I am extremely fit, I have been training though with hardships, am on weight and in Shape to deliver as i have previously done thats why am decorated and celebrated,” said Apolot.

“Salim Uhuru has for the past been influencial at supporting sportsmen and we treasure him so much, May God reward him abundantly.”

Apolot got the World Championship title in June 2015 after beating Serbia’s Ivana Mirkov in Hungary.

Apolot, commonly known as Black Pearl, last fought in in 2019 when she beat Kenyan Joyce Awino in a K1 super lightweight fight tittle dubbed ‘Revelation night of 1000 punches’ and also smashed WKF European Champion Adrian Tatu from Romania.
