Much Anticipation Ahead of Kabalega Rally

There is a lot of excitement ahead of the sixth round of the National Rally Championship event following the recent easing of the Covid-19 lockdown.

The federation of Uganda Motorsports Clubs (FMU) confirmed the UMOSPOC organised Kabalega Rally, due to take place on the 22nd and 23rd of October in the Bunyoro Albertan region.

The Kabalega Rally was launched on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at Grand Praclos Hotel in Mukono.

Ibrahim Lubega commonly known as Fatuwa and Kawunyemu rally driver Samuel Bwete atended the launch and are all optimistic ahead of the event.

“For three years, I have never finished Kabalega rally and I think this my year” Sam Bwete stated.

Ibrahim Lubega commented: “I am leading the two wheel apparently and 7th overall on the table now, I need only 20 points to win this championship this year.”

Lubega, the 2019 champion, will mainly face stiff competetion from Samuel Watendwa and Najib Ssempijja.

According to the clerk of the course, Justine Mungooma, all is set for the event.

“This time round its a one day event with three sections – Kinyogozi (26KM), World wide Movers in kikube (25KM) three times and Bugambe tea estate (17KM) three times,” Mungoma said.

“We have recieved 24 entries so far with the closure of entries expected on Saturday.”

Duncan Mubiru still tops the chart with 270 points followed by Hassan Alwi and Fred Kitaka in the second and third position respectively. Omar Mayanja sits in fourth position and followed by Jas Mangat in 5th position.
