KCCA FC Out-classes Wakiso Giants To Show Early Intent

Sunday, October 17
*Police FC 0-2 Vipers
*Wakiso Giants 0-3 KCCA FC

KCCA FC rolled over Wakiso Giants to move top of the Uganda Premier League table in their opening game of the season.

The tie was over before the hour-mark thanks to a goal each from Sadat Anaku, Davis Kasirye and Ashraf Mugume at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium.

Anaku headed in the opener in the fifth minute of the game to set a tone for what turned into a walk in the park for the visitors.

New signing Kasirye silenced all forms of earlier criticism to double the advantage when he benefited from Denis Iguma assist, beat the keeper before tapping in.

Midfielder Mugume contributed the decoration of a wonderful evening with a beauty in the 53rd minute.

It is a brilliant start for Morley Byekwaso and the gaffer who replaced the highly regarded Mike Mutebi last season, will be hoping for such results in the coming games.

KCCA FC were the better side and deserved winners on the day, and could have scored more if Herbert Achai did not rattle the side net while Brian Aheebwa also fluffed a tap-in after a neat ball from Rogers Mato.

Wakiso Giants had chances to find the back of the net but KCCA FC goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan denied Ivan Bogere twice and Frank Ssebufu in one-on-one situations.

Midfielder Joshua Lubwama came close from freekick, Frank Ssebufu missed a free header while Rahmat Ssenfuka shot wide off the target early in the game.
